We are ideally located for visiting four medieval villages in the Veneto region, the most stunning of their kind in Italy.
Just a few miles away lies the village of Asolo in the lush green hills of Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
Nature lovers might almost be tempted to get there on foot; the walk is wonderful.
Continuing along the Strada del Prosecco towards Valdobbiadene-Conegliano, two other medieval villages are waiting to be discovered in the hills about 45 minutes away.
These are Follina, with its ancient abbey, and Cison di Valmarino, with the castle of Castel Brando.
The last but by no means least charming village is Mel, located in the province of Belluno and also about 45 minutes from the hotel. This excursion offers a wonderful view of the Dolomites in a truly magical landscape.
And it’s not just small villages that the region has to offer: it also boasts ancient medieval castles, abbeys, cloisters and dedicated churches where you can admire authentic works of art by artists such as Lorenzo Lotto, Giorgione and Jacopo da Ponte.
Their works can also be found in walled art cities such as Castelfranco Veneto, Cittadella, Feltre and Possagno, home to the birthplace of Antonio Canova and the Gypsotheca with its collection of plaster casts. And of course, Bassano del Grappa and Marostica are not to be missed.
For guests who want to make the most of the hotel’s strategic location, we have designed a weekend package with the option to add guided tours.
